Finally Slowing Down

Well life has been a lot slower, but still moving. Last weekend was Catherine's baby shower, I think it turned out really well, we played games and Catherine got some cute clothes and some essentials. I don't think I mentioned this before in case Catherine read my blog I didn't want her to have her surprise ruined, but I made her a diaper cake! It was really fun to figure out how to make it. I tried to make a diaper carriage to put on the top on the cake, but the carriage turned out a little to big and didn't fit on top very well, but it still looked very cute next to it.
I also got my hair done as you may remember, it didn't turn out how I had envisioned it the first time around but, the gal who does my hair fixed it for me last Wednesday and it looks great now! I got Season's Salon & Day Spa they are awesome, I have been going there for about 4 years, Autumn Spencer (the owner) is the one who does my hair, I love her to pieces!
But this past week has been awesome because I started my new shift!!!! 8AM-5PM!! I love getting off at 5 and still having the whole night to do stuff. It has been awesome! But my mom and I have been burning the midnight oil all week trying to get my Halloween costume finished up in time, I am still not quite done and the party is on Saturday(Tomorrow!!!) But i think I will be able to finish in time. I have been looking forward to this Halloween party for WEEKS!!! The party is going to be themed to Wizard of OZ and Wicked, we are planning to watch the Wizard of OZ and play games, I am very excited!
We also on Tuesday night went to a CONCERT!!! It was Parachute, Boys Like Girls, and All American Rejects! The concert was so amazing!!! It was the first concert that mike and I have been to together so it was really fun! But I must say that I chose the wrong pair of shoes because by the end of the concert my poor little feet couldn't barley even walk. But it was worth it!!
But after Saturday we have nothing on the Calendar till Thanksgiving, but that doesn't mean we don't have a ton of stuff to do! We this past week painted our upstairs bathroom RED!! I love it, it to me is the only finished room in the house, as far as things I want to modify and upgrade. But for Mike's Final Project in Tech Management we are going to do the cabinets in our kitchen! So that will be done in the next 6 weeks! I am so pumped! Then after the cabinets, I want to paint the kitchen, and our bedroom/bathroom, as well as redo the linoleum in the kitchen to hardwoods. So we will do all this stuff over time but it is still fun to be getting somethings done right now!
But that is about all that we have been up to for now but Ill let you all know how the Halloween party turns out!! Thank You all for your love and support and I hope that you are well also. Until next time, God be with you!

Love,

Get Fixed

Well this last week was far less crazy on the scale of life, but it was still pretty busy. We spent almost every morning and night before and after work and school unpacking boxes, cleaning, and organizing. Everything is finally coming together, I post some pictures on my Facebook of the new place...but honestly it doesn't do it justice. We got some nice curtains for the kitchen and all bedrooms, I got the house all decorated in its norm as well as for Halloween. The office/Craft room had some more work that it needs as far as putting bins in the crawl space instead of the closet, but it is so nice to go in there and sow or work on a project while Mike is on the computer! We got the final top coat in the fireplace and it looks awesome!
I also put a request in at work for a schedule change because we had a position become available at work, so keep your fingers crossed for me and maybe I can move from 11-8 to 8-5. With Mike's schedule and my schedule we are both being gone from home from 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM...11 hours a day...YUCKIE!!! Its super exhausting, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
Saturday I went and got my hair done, Ladies and Gentlemen I went back to blond! I went almost a year with being a brunette but I needed a change so I did it...But it didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to....not quite as blond and a lot more red...so I am going back in on Friday to get it fixed, so at that point I can maybe post a picture.
We also had our Linx end of the summer PARTY!! It was at Sleepy Ridge Golf course. They played best ball scrambler, Mike's team barley lost with a tie, and the tie breaker being closest to the hole...they lost by inches! But it was really fun to see everyone from the summer, not that were not all going to sell again next summer or anything, but it was really fun!
Friday I took Simba and Ace in to get fixed...because in animal land just because your brother and sister doesn't mean you wont try to start a family. The drive over went really smooth, there was minimal crying in the car on the way over, and dropped them off and then left. Well on my way home I got a call from the Pet Hospital informing me that my cats we both BOYS!!! I couldn't believe it, this whole time I thought he was a she...So i asked if I still needed to get them fixed and they did recommend it because male cats can get very aggressive if they are not fixed but they also will spray the house to mark territory, and we really don't want that, so we still fixed them. But Simba apparently has a cold so we had to get him some antibiotics, he sneezes a lot and it is really cute. Ace's eye is finally clearing up with prescription eye drops from the vet. Poor little guys! But I am so happy that Mike was okay with getting them! And he even LIKES THEM, maybe even LOVE!!!
Sunday we went to our new ward. We have 9 AM church...yay...  o.O But the ward has a lot of young couples and little kids, but there is a good mix of everything. I enjoyed relief society, all the ladies were very friendly and welcomed me, but it didn't feel awkward which was nice. Our bishops name is Bishop Johnson, go figure, and seems really nice! I think that we are really going to like the ward! It was also Keith's (Mike's uncle who passed away) birthday yesterday, so we went to visit the grave with the family and sang hymns. I really appreciate that we remember Keith and Nancy and visit them and I am grateful for the ability that the family has to love and let me be apart of that process.
But that is pretty much it for this week, Ill let you all know how my hair turns out on Friday and how our weekend plans go!Love you and THANK YOU for all your love and support through our moving process. Love you ALL!

No Place Like Home

Well this last week was busy, but the most important thing is that we got all moved into our new house! With the help of family we were able to get all moved in about 3 hours and even got the kitchen all unpacked! The rest of the house looks like a box/storage graveyard! But with time I know we will get the place looking like home. It is so weird that it already feels so much like home even with all the boxes! This  morning when I got up I put a roast in the crock pot so when we get home we will have our first meal in our new house!
We also have already (almost) completed our first home project on Sunday as we listened to conference. We have a fireplace in our living room which featured a golden oak trim and mantel, we painted and glazed it so now it is a beautiful dark brown color, Mike and I are very happy with how it turned out! Come by if you want to see the finished product!
We got to bring home our two kittens on Saturday to! They are so sweet and fun, Mike and I are continually surprised by how much they want us to hold them, and follow us around the house. In case I hadn't mentioned it earlier their names are Ace (boy) and Simba (Girl). They sleep in our bed with us last night, ALL NIGHT! I couldn't believe it, they snuggled and hung out till the morning when I got up to fix dinner. This weekend we are taking them to get fixed, so no we wont be having any more kittens in the near future. We gave them both a bath on Saturday after coming home and neither one of them enjoyed the experience, but they looks so cute now that they are clean! I think we may have got some soap in Ace's eye because he looks like he is getting a small eye infection, it is amazing to me how worried I am about a cat, but he is my kitty and I love him to pieces, especially when he stands at my feet and his meows beg me to pick him up. LOL!
Mike already has a ton of projects he wants to work on, which include, building shelves in the shed, a ladder to the crawl space, and finish the fireplace (which we only have to to a top coat on). My list of things I want to do is far more trivial but feel important to me, I want to redo the cabinets in the kitchen as well as the floor, Repaint the living room as well as the bathrooms and bedrooms upstairs. I will have to save up but we will be there for a long time to come so there is not rush. But we do need to get a desk for our office so I anyone knows if anything available for a good price let us know!
Because of Conference this last weekend we have not yet been to our new ward but we will be going this weekend. We have been told the ward is a lot of younger couples and young kids, which will be perfect for us! We are excited to become established in a ward and get callings.
Well that is about all for now, but Mike and I would like to send a HUGE shout out to all those were able to come and help us move! You made the experience both possible and enjoyable. Thanks again for all your love and support we appreciate your prayers!

Our House!

Well life being busy this last month would be an understatement! Between Me working full time and Mike being at school we have still managed to be occupied ALL of the time.
A couple of weeks ago we got to go fishing with father Johnson and Mike's brother Kevin. It was an over nighter to Strawberry, Mike went up with Dad on Friday during the day and they both caught about 18 fish!! But they were only able to keep 8 because of the fishing regulations in Utah. So for dinner Friday night we had tin foil dinners and ate so fishys! Saturday Morning we got up at the crack of dawn and got out on the lake, despite our desire to catch some fish, we only caught 5 fish but all were to small to keep, except one. But he still managed to wiggle his way off the chain and get back into the lake. So I guess it is good Mike and Dad caught so many fish the day before because we may have gone home empty handed!
2 weeks ago, I got off work early, Mike and I drove down to Grand Junction, Colorado with his Mom & Dad to watch his sister Marci play a soccer game, Marci has a scholarship to play for University Highlands New Mexico. It was really fun to see Marci play in person, and to eat dinner with her at Cafe Rio after wards. We drove back that same night and got back about 3:30 AM, but not before Mike got pulled over for speeding, he thought he was going 5mph over, but was really going 15mph over. Luckily the police man could tell he made an honest mistake, and let us go with a warning!! YAY!!
Then last weekend Mike's sister Alyse thought it would be fun if we did a 5K as a family! So on Saturday morning at 7:30 we all assembled at Lindon City Park, and participated in a 5K. Mike finished in a whopping 25 minutes!! I finished in about 42 minutes! Although my time is not that impressive, when I came across the finish line I was just balling because my knees hurt so bad! (If you don't know/Remember, I went to an orthopedic surgeon in January of this year because my knees were hurting so bad when I was just walking or going up and down stairs. The orthopedic surgeon said that I had patellofemoral syndrome, which simply put means that the cartilage in my knees are softening so when I run the knee cap is grinding on my leg bones...OUCH!) But it was so awesome to be able to finish and finish with an okay time. But Mike on the other hand also had a soccer game a few hours later. It was an out door game so the game was 90 minutes long and their team was down a player the entire games and for about 20 minutes was down 2 people. He scored a goal, and they won 3-1!! Go Mike!!
This past week my Mom has been helping me sow my Halloween Costume! As you know we went to see Wicked in SLC in August, the play had a huge impact on us so Mike' and I decided to do a Wicked Wizard of OZ Halloween party at our new house for the family! I have decided to be Glinda, my dress will be Big, and Pink, and Poofy! I will be making my costume, so my Mom has been over many times to help me get going on my costume! I am now just waiting for my hoop skirt to come in the mail to make the final steps on my dress! I am very excited to be working on this project with her!
This weekend we are going to be able to move into our house! After waiting for only a month, we are going to be able to move in! We have a moving truck scheduled for Saturday morning at 9AM, if you wanna help let us know! We could use any extra hands that are willing to help!! Well I think that is all that is new but we as always thank you all for your love and prayers you send our way. We hope everyone is well and hope to see everyone soon! Love you ALL!!

Love,
Lindy Johnson
