Stranded!

Well yesterday was quite eventful! Summer and I had to go to the bank to deposit all the set up fee checks for that week, so we decided on our way back we would also go to the mall so Kelsey and Kaylee were with us. While I was driving Summer's car, because she doesn't like to drive, the car started SMOKING on the freeway!! I immediately pulled over, we lifted the hood and the engine was smoking like crazy and appeared to be leaking anti-freeze. So we sat in the 100 degree hot humid sun for 30 minutes trying to figure out what to do. I tried calling my car insurance company( USAA) because my roadside assistance would cover a tow because I was driving....Great right?!!?? Well I guess we didn't have it on our policy for some dumb reason, I added it for .90 cents a month but it wouldn't take effect till midnight. So of no help right then. Finally and nice but creepy man named Robert Ruth pulled over to help us. He looked a lot like Santa Clause! he helped us get the radiator cap off and pour the remaining amount of anti-freeze that Summer happened to have in her car and we drove the remaining 1 1/2 miles to the gas station. We were there for another 10 to 15 minutes, bought some more anti-freeze and then drove to a Kwik Lube. We found out the mechanic was out sick that day and they closed in 20 minutes and we would have to wait to tomorrow. So we were officially stranded about 5 miles from home. Luckily we had a friend who wasn't with us, Cardin who could come pick us when she got off work. Finally after a 3 hour adventure we were SAVED!!! I went home and immediately and took a nap :)

I am grateful for friends to share amazing experiences like this one!!

Catching Up!

It would be an understatement to say the past two months were busy! but let me just update you all with a few headlines.

The 4th of July was SO much fun. Mike growing up in Utah never has the...legal opportunity to do fireworks because a lot of fireworks are illegal in Utah so this year we went all out! We did Roman candels, mortars, bottle rockets, sparkler bombs, and even ground hogs and bees! Mike only caught on fire once (see video on my Facebook page) and there are still have plenty of fireworks left. We had a blast and it was Mike and I's first 4th of July as a married couple...awww!

Work got crazy busy for a while there with our office putting up almost 50 accounts everyday for about a week and a half! I couldn't keep up with everything so I was able to hire one of the sales reps wives, Summer to help out with paperwork. It has been such a blessing to have some of my time freed up so that I can enjoy more of my day. But speaking of our office doing so well the guys from corporate flew out here to Kansas City to take our office out to dinner. We went to Jack Stack BBQ...HOLY COW!!! It was amazing Mike got this dinner called Jacks Best, it Features one Crown Prime Beef Rib, A Baby Back Ribs, and Beef Burnt Ends. The Crown Prime Beef Rib was HUGE!! and so delicious. I got a steak that melted in my mouth...best part it was on Linx!

Also Mike was offered a managing position next summer with Linx. We are so totally excited, I think it says a lot about Mike as a person and a sales man to be offered this opportunity after only being with the company for less than a year. The immediate benefits is obviously a better financial situation but what I am most excited about is being able to choose where we go next summer, and I am not going to be an admin :)' We decided to not extend for another month here in Kansas City and return home just in the nick of time for school...

Because Mike and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary on the 2nd of September and he will be hacking at a full time school schedule we decided to take a 3 night trip to Branson, MO!! For those of you who dont know Branson is very much like Vegas but much more family oriented. The package deal we found includes A Three-Night Stay for Two at a Preferred Partner Hotel in Branson, Two Tickets for the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider, Two Tickets for the Canopy Adventure and Zipline Tour, Two Tickets for Go-Karting at The Track, Dinner and a Show for Two at Dixie Stampede, Two Tickets to See "Legends of Kung Fu", Two Tickets to a Legends in Concert Tribute Show!
Were going to have an amazing time!

And the last but not least Mike's Mom, and Brian, and Marci came to visit us for the weekend! It was so much fun, they actually got to go out to dinner with us to Jack Stack with Linx's Owners. Were able to go visit Liberty Jail, the RLDS temple tour, Independence Visitor Center and watch an amazing Video, the Kansas City Temple and then drive up to Adam-omdi-Ohman. It was a spiritual experience and I could think of a better way to spend the Sabbath. We were able to read in Moses about the gathering oh so long ago and Adam's lineage down to Noah and Enoc. I love learning more and more about our churches history!
We then said our good byes at Waffle House! It was so good! Bittersweet was our weekend. Amazing to spend time with family but so sad to see them go. But it just means were so much closer to coming home!

Well sorry you guys haven't heard from us in a while, I will try to not let it go that long again. Hope all is well and can't wait to get home! Hugs and Kisses!
